I really must write more often - I used to say that when we had letters and stamps. It never happened then, and I’m not much better now. However I’m gradually inching my way to half way through draft one of the sequel, 15 minutes at a time. It doesn’t help when the weather is so beautiful. The tables have turned, in that I’m basking in daily sunshine while the fam back in Brisbane is up to its knees in mud. It will change soon enough.
In this episode I have both positive and negative news.
The good things are:
1. I’ve signed the final contract for Finding Miriama to be made into an audiobook. Yay 🎉
2. My local library has purchased two copies of the paperback. Must take a photo of it on the shelf!
The not-so-good things are:
1. I’ve deduced that the Able Book Award which I’ve been nominated for is more of a money-making exercise for the promoters, so if I’m a finalist I won’t be flying to Melbourne and spending $1500 for the privilege!
2. After gently nudging you all to submit a positive review of Finding Miriama on Amazon, I’m told that you have to have spent a certain amount of money with them to do so. Not a good look, Amazon.
I’d better finish on a high note though , so I’ve attached photos of an inspirational painted piece of corrugated iron I found at Mitre 10, and three actual (not audio) books I’m reading at the moment which I’m really enjoying 😁
