Not Dry July

This applies to both the weather and my appreciation of Sauvignon Blanc.

After the craziness of the last couple of months, promoting The Spirit Remains, July has been relatively calm.

There are things coming up next month—whoops, this month—but for now I'm enjoying the serenity of our tiny home up on the Sunshine Coast.

Tomorrow we leave on the first leg of our motorhome road trip up to Port Douglas, a mere 3304 kms altogether. We'll return elated or divorced. Wait for the August blog.

We saw a couple of shows relating to the Arts this month up here. The first was a live interview with Aussie actor/author Bryan Brown, and the next week we saw the

latest David Williamson play called Coping With Winter. Not that it's hard to do here at 22 degrees centigrade in July. The main male lead was played by Irish/Kiwi actor Erik Thomson.

On the writing front, there were a couple more reviews in NZ magazines, and an invitation to attend the Eumundi Writers Festival in September. I finally have a book in an Aussie library as well, which is my biggest coup. All of that inspired me to make a TikTok video and develop a new wine label.

I also designed a tshirt logo for our upcoming trip, since the main reason for the trek is to attend the Books in Paradise event in Port Douglas. Of course Neil has to wear one too.

To finish, here's a photo taken by our soon-to-be son-in-law (that's a lot of hyphens) of our grandson and his daughter admiring the view after climbing a mountain up here.

It's not a bad place to have a second home.
