I recently attended a three day Readers and Writers Festival called Between the Lines in Central Hawkes Bay. It was pretty inspiring meeting fellow authors, some starting out like me, and others onto their eighth book (!) I discovered the small town of Waipawa, and a tiny village called Ongaonga, where the events were held. Such a beautiful part of the country. Hopefully I can attend next year also, with perhaps two books under my belt.
Speaking of two books, I'm getting close to finishing the first draft of the sequel, at this stage called Of Greenstone and Violins, and I had some fun playing with AI to see what it could come up with for a cover. See the result above - I love the face and the mood. The guy below that is. Shame the strings are falling off the violin! It gave me some ideas though. What do people think?
My cousin Jon who designed the Finding Miriama cover will be doing this one too (I hope).
Coming up is a book fair in Hamilton called Ages of Pages which I will be at. I have half a table and around 30 books, so we'll see. It will be good once again to meet fellow authors. I have a feeling though that many are Romance writers, who possess a skill I will never master. I'll report back soon.
I expect Jon to come up with a brilliant cover Donna. AI? Meh!
